Event
The Daufuskie Island Marathon takes place on Saturday, January 17, 2026, on Daufuskie Island, just off the coast of Hilton Head, South Carolina. The event is offered on a USATF certified course and includes two distances:
- 13.1 miles
- 26.2 miles
The full marathon is run by completing the 13.1 mile loop twice. The route runs through Haig Point, Freeport, along Church Road, and returns into Haig Point along the beach. The event is produced by Run 4 a Reason LLC / Rough Runners R4R INC and lists the Daufuskie Island Conservancy among its beneficiaries.
Logistics and services
The event begins inside Haig Point, a private island community. Runners are greeted on arrival with coffee, cinnamon rolls, and on-site entertainment under a heated event canopy. After the race, participants receive a catered picnic lunch, an assortment of beverages, and a finisher medal; medal engraving is available at the after party. Overall and age-group awards are given to the top three men and top three women of each distance, with handmade awards by a local artist.
Packet pick up is scheduled for Friday, January 16, 2026, at Palmetto Running Company in Hilton Head. Ferry transport to Daufuskie Island is not included with race registration. Place: 1 Lighthouse Ln, Daufuskie Island, SC 29915. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
