Event overview
Death by 5k Memphis is a 24-hour running challenge that requires participants to complete ten separate 5 km runs. Runs are scheduled every 2.5 hours; participants must be present at the start of each 5 km and finish that 5 km before the next one begins. The event includes running in the dark, so participants must carry a headlamp, hand light, or other illumination.
Course and logistics
The event starts and finishes at the Tour de Wolf Pavilion at Shelby Farms, 6903 Great View Drive North, Memphis, TN 38018. The route is run almost entirely on the Tour de Wolf trail and will be mostly a loop with a short midway section that may be out-and-back. Trail conditions may change the amount of two-way traffic on course. Between runs, participants may sleep in vehicles in the parking area or set up tents on the adjacent grass area. Organizers plan to serve five hot meals and provide additional snacks and drinks during the event.

Registration is initially limited to 200 participants; a waitlist will open after that. The listed entry price is $160, which includes a $10 fee.
Participant items
