Death by 5k Tyler
Death by 5k Tyler is a challenging 24-hour running event held at Tyler State Park in Texas, specifically in the Blackjack camping area. Participants face the unique test of completing ten 5k runs spaced every 2.5 hours, starting early morning and continuing through the night, requiring headlamps for nighttime runs. The course features dirt trails with natural obstacles like rocks, roots, and occasional mud, and is slightly longer than a standard 5k at about 3.5 miles.
Between runs, runners can rest in tents or cars at the camping area. The event offers hot meals, snacks, hydration, and commemorative swag, including special awards for finishers. Registration is limited to 150 runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
