Death by 5k Tyler

Death by 5k Tyler is a unique 24-hour running challenge held at Tyler State Park in Texas, featuring ten 5k runs spaced every 2.5 hours. Participants tackle the course on dirt trails near the Blackjack camping area, navigating rocks, roots, and occasional mud, with the route measuring closer to 3.5 miles. The event tests endurance through physical fatigue, sleep deprivation, and night running, requiring headlamps or other illumination.

Between runs, runners can rest in tents or cars at the camping site. The race offers hot meals, snacks, hydration, event shirts, and special coffin-shaped awards for finishers. Registration is limited to 150 runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
