Defiance 50k
The Defiance 50K is a scenic trail running event held in Point Defiance Park, Tacoma, Washington, featuring distances of 50K, 30K, 15K, and a 3-person 50K relay. The course consists of a roughly 9.75-mile loop through old growth forests with towering 500-year-old cedars and firs, offering panoramic views of Puget Sound. Runners experience mostly single-track trails with some hills and aid stations at the start/finish and Fort Nisqually.
The race takes place in mid-October, typically dry and cool, and emphasizes a supportive atmosphere with finisher medals, tech shirts, and post-race refreshments. Proceeds benefit the Humane Society of Tacoma & Pierce County. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
