About the race
Defiance 50K, 30K, 15K (and 3‑person relay) is a scenic Tacoma event run through Point Defiance and Owen Beach. Runners tackle a roughly 9.75‑mile loop (15.7 km) through old‑growth forest, with Puget Sound views and soft single‑track beneath 500‑year‑old cedars and firs in one of the country’s top urban parks. The 50K completes three loops, the 30K two, the 15K one, and relay teams cover three loops total.
Elevation gain per loop is about 1,306 feet. The course is typically dry in mid‑October and about 95% runnable, with landmark views at Gig Harbor and Fort Nisqually. A portion of proceeds supports the Humane Society of Tacoma & Pierce County. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
