Devil's Toll Race
The Devil's Toll Race, held in Middle Brook, Missouri, is a challenging 13-mile event across rugged terrain on the Ozark Trail. Participants traverse from Taum Sauk Mountain, Missouri's highest point, past Mina Sauk Falls and the Devil’s Toll Gate rock formation, continuing over Proffit and Wildcat Mountains, and finishing with a Black River crossing at Johnson Shut-ins State Park. The race offers both running and hiking options, solo or in teams, emphasizing self-sufficiency with minimal support and no on-course aid stations.
The course features steep elevation changes, rocky technical terrain, and stunning vistas, making it suitable only for experienced trail runners and hikers. Proceeds benefit the Ozark Trail Association. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
