Race details and course
The 2026 courses will restore many sections used in earlier decades. A full Course Reveal and athlete guides are planned for January 2026. Courses are marked using ribbons on clothes pins, occasional flour, directional arrows, and wrong-way signs. Aid station maps, profiles, and driving directions will be published with the Course Reveal. Crew access is permitted at many aid stations unless explicitly restricted.
Logistics and rules
Pre-race packet, shirt, and bib pickup is scheduled at Sports Basement Berkeley on September 24. Drop bags are supported and will be transported to the Big Bear aid station; returned after Big Bear closes. Pacers are allowed for the 100k and 50-mile with prior registration and must provide their own transport to entry points; pacers are not allowed for the marathon. Poles are permitted. Time limits and cutoffs are firm and runners who miss them will be removed from the course. Age-group awards are given in 10-year groups. Finishers receive event apparel and commemorative items; specific items vary by distance. Sports nutrition provided at aid stations includes Skratch sports drink and Gu gels. Parking at Lake Chabot carries a fee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
