The Dirty December Trail Run takes place at Sycamore Canyon in San Diego on December 21, 2025. Distances offered include:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- Hill Climb (6HR)
Elevation gain is listed as approximately 1,000 ft for the 10K, 2,300 ft for the half marathon, and 3,500 ft for the marathon. The Hill Climb course uses a 2.5-mile loop on Cardiac Hill that participants may repeat.
Race services, awards, and rules
All entrants receive a long sleeve technical shirt and finishers receive a finishers award. First male and female overall for each distance receive a free race entry for the following year. Prizes are awarded for best costume with separate solo and team costume categories. The Hill Climb also awards “King and Queen of the hill” honors.
Event rules require runners to carry their own food, fluids, clothing, and supplies between aid stations, and to carry a minimum of 40 oz of water. Runners must check in at every aid station to be credited with an official finish and must turn in their bib if they withdraw. Littering results in disqualification. Outside assistance between aid stations is not allowed except for medical emergencies. Participants are responsible for the actions of their crews and pacers and must follow the marked trail.
