Event details
The District Dash 5K is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Coligny Beach in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The event is organized by the Beaufort County School District and aims to promote exercise and wellness across district schools. Event categories listed by the organizer include an Adult 5K Run Walk, a students category for ages 4–17, and a new kids race.

The top three schools with the most overall race participation will receive a wellness funding prize to support their school’s MUSC Wellness Program. Elementary students who complete a full marathon distance (26.2 miles) through the Brooks’ Marathon Kids tracking program during the 2025–26 school year will be recognized at the District Dash. The school with the most Marathon Kids participants will receive a portion of race proceeds as a wellness donation.
Programs and logistics
The 2026 additions include a beach clean-up opportunity for high schools for community service hours and a Buddy Run/Walk option for high school Buddy Clubs. Race shirts are guaranteed for participants who register by April 20, 2026. Packet pickup is scheduled Friday, May 8, 2026, at Palmetto Running Company (Bluffton location) and on race day at Coligny Beach. There will be no race-day registration.
