Event
The Beaufort County School District (BCSD) will host the District Dash 5K on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Coligny Beach, Hilton Head Island, SC. The event is organized for students, families, and community members and allows participants to register under their school or multiple schools when applicable.
Distances and event categories:
- 5K - Adult 5K Run Walk
- Students (ages 4-17) - student category for youth participants
- 0.5 mi - Kids Dash for elementary students
Logistics and prizes
Entry fees and registration notes from the organizer: the Adult 5K is listed at $20 with a price increase after April 30, 2026; the Students category is listed at $15; the Kids Dash is listed at $10. Registration windows and deadlines are provided by the organizer; race-day registration will not be available. Race shirts are guaranteed for participants who register by April 20, 2026. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before at Palmetto Running Company (Bluffton location only) and on race day at Coligny Beach.
Program features and awards include a beach clean-up opportunity for high school participants seeking community service hours, a Buddy Run/Walk element for high school Buddy Clubs, and a Brooks’ Marathon Kids partnership that recognizes students who log a cumulative 26.2 miles during the 2025–26 school year. The top three schools by participation will receive wellness funding to support the MUSC Wellness Program, and a school with the most Marathon Kids participants will receive a portion of race proceeds as a donation.
