Event overview
The Downey 5K for TLC is the 14th annual 5K run/walk to benefit the Downey Unified School District's TLC Family Resource Center. It takes place on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Apollo Park, 12544 Rives Ave, Downey, CA 90242. The event offers both in-person and virtual options for the 5K distance, and includes separate student categories for Downey Unified School District (DUSD).
Registration and logistics
Four event entries are listed: in-person 5K, in-person 5K DUSD Student, virtual 5K, and virtual 5K DUSD Student. Prices shown are $38.10 (including a $3.10 fee) for standard entries and $27.50 (including a $2.50 fee) for DUSD student entries. In-person registration opens November 1, 2025; virtual registration opens November 6, 2025. Age eligibility is indicated as 1-99 for standard entries and 1-18 for DUSD student entries. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed by January 31, 2026. Registration will close at 1,500 participants. The first 100 registered can use coupon code First100 for $5 off. Same-day registration is listed as pending availability.
