Event overview
The 6th annual DPF 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for June 20, 2026 in Anniston, AL 36201. The event is organized by the Dee Pogue Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that focuses on S.T.E.M. education and mentorship for African American boys ages 8-12. The foundation reports a 100% high school to college transition rate for students who complete its program. A portion of race proceeds will support male high school seniors in Calhoun County, AL who need financial help for college.
The course is a USATF certified 5K (3.1 miles) that surrounds Zinn Park at 101 W. 14th Street in downtown Anniston. The course is described as flat and runs through city landscape.
Registration, fees and race details
Price tiers and dates are listed for different registration periods, including pre-early bird, student, early bird, standard and late registration, with student pricing for ages 18 and under. The last day to order a race shirt is May 31, 2026; shirts are not guaranteed after that date. Race day registrations submitted online between midnight and 6:29 am must be completed online; manual check-in registrations begin at 6:30 am. Packet pickup (check-in) is scheduled from 6:30 am to 7:45 am. Bibs must be worn visibly between the neck and waist for accurate chip reading and photo identification. There is a $100 prize for anyone who beats the current record time of 18:20 set in 2023. The event fundraising goal is $5,000; $130 has been raised so far.
