Event overview
The 14th Annual Drumstick Dash is a 5K run/walk held on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2025, in Charleston, West Virginia. The event takes place at Haddad Riverfront Park, 700 Kanawha Blvd. E, Charleston, WV 25304. Entry fee is $35 for most participants and $15 for ages 1 to 10. Registration closes on November 25, 2025. Registration includes a race T-shirt if completed by November 10, 2025; after that date shirts are available while supplies last. The event encourages participants to bring canned and nonperishable food for donation and uses the motto “Shuffle your feet so others can eat.” Participants may dress warmly or wear costumes.
Logistics and awards
Packet pickup is available on November 26, 2025 at the Little Theater in the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center (200 Civic Center Drive), and there is race day packet pickup at Haddad Riverfront Park. Parking includes the Shanklin parking building (free) and nearby side streets; Court Street is reserved for police vehicles. Awards include prizes for the top three males and top three females overall, plus top male and female in each age category: 10 and under (competitive only), 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Additional prizes include pumpkin pies for the first ten costumed participants at the prize tent and for people who find ten turkey hats hidden along the route.
