Eastern Legend
The Eastern Legend is a challenging night trail running event held on a private ranch in Gilmer, Texas, featuring distances of 5K, 10K, 13.1 miles, 26 miles, 50K, and a 10K ruck. Originally set in Mission Tejas State Park, the race was relocated due to construction but maintains similar wooded, hilly terrain with dirt single-track trails and creek crossings. The course offers a rugged experience under the stars in the humid East Texas climate, with temperatures typically between 72-80°F at night.
Participants enjoy fully marked trails, aid stations every three miles, and camping options on-site. The event is part of the Texas Summer Night Series, rewarding finishers with collectible medals and race swag. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
