The Eastern States 100 is a challenging 103-mile single-loop trail race held in the remote Wilds region of the Allegheny Plateau in north-central Pennsylvania. The course circumnavigates the scenic Pine Creek watershed, featuring over 20,000 feet of elevation gain across rugged terrain, including steep climbs and technical trails. Runners traverse iconic paths such as the Mid State Trail, Black Forest Trail, and West Rim Trail, passing through wilderness areas, old logging roads, and small villages like Ramsey and Blackwell.
