End of the Road Half Marathon
The End of the Road Half Marathon & 4 Miler is a unique running event held in Waterfall, Pennsylvania, on the abandoned Pennsylvania Turnpike. This historic stretch, bypassed in 1968, features miles of untouched road and five miles of underground tunnels through Sidling Hill and Ray's Hill. The event offers two half marathons on consecutive days and a One Tunnel 4 Miler, with a required headlamp or flashlight due to the unlit tunnels.
Limited to 500 runners per day, the race combines the eerie atmosphere of the tunnels with stunning fall foliage. Additional features include a Two-Day Challenge, Movie Night on the Turnpike, custom medals, tech shirts, and post-race refreshments. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
