Equinox Marathon
The Equinox Marathon, held in Fairbanks, Alaska, is the premier running event in Interior Alaska, with Beluga Field at the University of Alaska Fairbanks serving as the start and finish. It features the Marathon and Marathon Relay, plus a Marathon - Hike option. The course is largely on trails and includes a double climb over Ester Dome, resulting in about 3,300 feet of vertical gain.
A nine-station aid network (plus one at the finish) supports runners, and a generous 10-hour time limit accommodates walkers. The day is a community end-of-summer celebration, with variable weather and course conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
