Equinox Marathon

Website

The Equinox Marathon, held annually in Fairbanks, Alaska, is a premier trail running event in Interior Alaska. The challenging course features a demanding climb up and over Ester Dome twice, with approximately 3,300 feet of vertical ascent. Starting and finishing at the University of Alaska Fairbanks' Beluga Field, the race offers a full marathon, a three-leg relay covering the entire course, and a marathon hike option.

The event takes place near the autumnal equinox in late September, showcasing the region's vibrant fall colors before winter sets in. Weather and course conditions can vary widely, and nine aid stations support runners along the route. The race is organized by Running Club North.
