Event overview
The ERC New Year’s Day races take place on January 1, 2026 in Erie, PA at Presque Isle (1 Peninsula Dr, Erie, PA 16505). The event includes two course options:
- 5 miles
- 5K
Entry fee for each event is $23. Online registration opens November 15, 2025 and will remain available until the race begins. Packet pickup for pre-registered runners starts at 8:45 a.m. at the Rotary Pavilion near the Waterworks area (Beach #7).
Course, awards and additional information
Both courses start and finish in front of the Rotary Pavilion and are run entirely on the roadways of Presque Isle State Park. The 5K is a timed fun walk/run and will have no awards. The 5-mile race awards overall male and female winners, first masters (age 40 and over) male and female, and the top three male and female finishers in age groups: 12 & under, 13-15, 16-19, then five-year increments from 20-24 to 80 & over. Walkers are welcome. Post-race refreshments will be available in the Rotary Pavilion. The race will proceed in all weather unless Presque Isle State Park is closed by park authorities, in which case it may be postponed or cancelled.
