Course and logistics
All courses cross suspension bridges over Cane Creek Falls and Piney Creek Falls, pass Milikan's Overlook, run by the overlook for the park’s 256-foot waterfall, and include about 4 miles along the shoreline of Fall Creek Falls Lake. The park terrain includes pine forest and mossy, fern-lined trails along creeks.
Climbing and official finish cutoffs:
- 50k: 3,100 ft climbing; 18 hour official finish
- 100k: 6,200 ft climbing; 18 hour official finish
- 100 miles: 11,500 ft climbing; 32 hour official finish
Approximate driving times to Spencer: from Chattanooga 1 hour, Nashville 2 hours, Knoxville 2 hours, Huntsville 2.5 hours, Atlanta 3 hours, Birmingham 3.5 hours.
Refund policy summary: more than 4 weeks before the event - 100% refund or race credit; 2 to 4 weeks before the event - 50% refund or 100% race credit.
Awards and finisher items: 100-mile finishers receive hand-welded steel buckles; 50k and 100k finishers receive blue resin waterfalls. Finish items have a flame-torched finish; TIG welded finish applies to first-place and DFL awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
