Event overview

The Festivus 5K for Autism takes place on Sunday, December 14, 2025 in Salem, Massachusetts. The event is a 5K road race held as the 14th running of the Festivus 5K and as part of the Northshore Education Consortium's 50th anniversary activities. The race raises money to support children with autism served by the Northshore Education Consortium. Over the first thirteen years the event has raised more than $280,000.

Organizers expect about 500 runners. Professional race timing is provided by Second Wind Timing, and live results are available after the race.

Race details

The race start and finish are on Derby Street in historic downtown Salem. The course is described as fast and flat and includes one water stop. Packet pickup is scheduled for Saturday, December 13, 2025 at New England Running Company, 43 Enon Street, Beverly, MA. Race day registration is held at Finz Seafood & Grill in Salem. Public parking is available in lots, garages, and on streets.

Entry fee is $30 in advance and $35 on race day. Race shirts are available for the first 400 applicants, with sizes not guaranteed. Awards include Festivus pole trophies for overall male and female winners; age-group awards to the top three finishers in Youth (13 and under), 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, Senior Masters (50-59), 60-69, and 70 and over; a team award based on the average time of the top five teammates (must include one female); and best costume awards for male and female.
