Event overview
The Firecracker 5k/1-Mile Fun Run is scheduled for June 28, 2026 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The event includes two in-person distances:
- 5k
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
The race uses a closed, USATF-certified course that runs along Kenosha’s lake front harbor and historic district. The course has three water stations. Only the 5k is chip timed; timing and scoring are provided by J3 Timing. T-shirts and participant medals are available for the first 600 entrants; size preferences are assigned by registration order.
Logistics and rules
Race location and packet pick-up are at Library Park (711 59th Place, Kenosha, WI) and the Kenosha YMCA (packet pick-up option). Entry fees are non-refundable. Pre-registration pricing tiers apply during March through June. Awards apply to the 5k; trophies are given to the male and female winners and age-group medals are distributed per the event’s award categories. Finisher medals are available at the finish line and awards must be picked up by the stated deadline at the Kenosha YMCA.
Additional guidelines: runners age 10 and under must be accompanied by a registered running buddy; bibs must be worn on the front; baby strollers are allowed but must stay behind runners; no bicycles, dogs, roller-skates/blades, or skateboards; no alcoholic beverages in the park.
