Event overview
The Flag City Backyard Ultra in Findlay, OH takes place on October 4, 2025. It is a last-man-standing format on a 4.3-mile loop around the Findlay Reservoir (East Side). Runners must complete one loop each hour; the next loop begins at the top of each hour. The event continues until one runner completes a loop that no other runner can match. If no one completes one more loop than everyone else, there is no winner.
Entry is free. Runners who complete one full lap in the first hour receive a free shirt. The course is described as having 0 feet of elevation gain, 0 mud, and 0 roots.
Logistics and rules
This is a self-supported event: no food, drink, or supplies will be provided during the race. Participants are advised to be prepared for long running and bring necessary gear such as a headlamp. Parking is available on the grass at the base of the reservoir; vehicles may drive to the top only for drop-off and cannot remain there. Camping with tents is allowed the night before the race. Porta-johns will be available but there is no running water.
Race rules include being in the starting corral at the start whistle, no late starts, completing each loop within an hour to count, no personal aid during a loop (common aid stations allowed), no artificial aids including trekking poles, and allowing faster runners to pass.
