The Flat & Fast Rural Hall 5K 10K is scheduled for Saturday, October 25, 2025, in Rural Hall, NC. It is the 18th annual running and benefits Rural Hall Elementary School. The event offers these race options:

Both in-person courses are USA Track & Field certified. The event uses a gun start and chip timing. The 5K is a flat out-and-back route along a blocked lane of Hwy 65. The 10K is a two-loop course with three early hills and a flat finish. The start and finish area is at the Mayflower Seafood Restaurant parking lot, with additional parking at Tractor Supply and Food Lion nearby.
Logistics, awards and amenities
Race shirts are provided: adults receive Hanes Sport Cool Dri moisture-wicking shirts with 50 UPF, and youth receive Hanes 50/50 cotton/poly shirts. Top three overall male and female finishers in each race receive trophies. Age-group Olympic-style medals are awarded; specific age categories are listed separately for the 5K and 10K. The 5K includes a Halloween costume contest with cash prizes of $50, $30, and $20. Water station passes are provided on course (two for the 5K, three for the 10K). The finish area offers bottled water and food items including doughnuts, chocolate milk, cookies, fruit, and Gatorade. Entertainment includes a live DJ and a finish-line welcome from the Piedmont Cheering Hearts senior squad. No pets are allowed except service dogs.
