Fly Me To The Moon

The Fly Me To The Moon is a unique night 5K run/walk event held at the Neil Armstrong Airport in New Knoxville, Ohio. Scheduled for August 9, 2025, the race features a flat course along the airport’s taxiway and airstrip, offering participants a rare experience of running on a runway at night. The event includes both an in-person 5K and a virtual 5K option.

Runners receive a Top Gun-themed medal and a special shirt, with amenities like post-race refreshments and food trucks. The race is part of the Moon City Challenge series, which includes two other races, and supports the airport’s aviation scholarship fund.
