Event details
The Flying Horse race takes place on Saturday, November 8, 2025, in Sunland Park, NM (1200 Futurity Dr, 88063). The event is presented by United Way of El Paso County and sponsored by the City of Sunland Park. The course starts and finishes at Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino. The event program includes the following distances:
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
- Giddy Up Fun Run (family friendly, around the racetrack)
Entry, logistics and policies
Entry fees and registration deadlines are listed for each distance: half marathon $115, 10K $80, 5K $55, Giddy Up Fun Run $30. Registration closes November 7, 2025 at 5:00pm MST for all events. The 10K entry listing shows 45 spots remaining. All entry fees are non-refundable; registered participants may follow organizer instructions to transfer to another distance. Packet pickup is scheduled on three days before the race: Wednesday, November 5 at RAIZ Rojas Branch (9:30am to 5:30pm); Thursday, November 6 at the Downtown Visitor Information Center (10:00am to 6:00pm); and Friday, November 7 at Holiday Inn El Paso West - Sunland (10:00am to 6:30pm). A workplace division allows teams of at least four participants to compete in the same distance division. Fundraising options are available through the event for partner nonprofits.
