Foot Pursuit 5K Trail Race : Valparaiso, IN
The Foot Pursuit 5K Trail Race is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Sunset Hill County Park, 775 Meridian Rd., Valparaiso, IN 46383. The event distance is 3.1 miles and the course is all trail through wooded terrain with rolling hills and variable weather. Amenities listed include one water station, a digital clock at the finish, and a large amount of food for refreshments. Early packet pick-up is available at The Extra Mile Fitness Company, 3400 Calumet Ave., Valparaiso on Friday, March 6. Race day packet pick-up at the race site opens at 7:30 AM.
Entry, categories and awards
Registration fees vary by date and option: a No Shirt option is listed at $25; standard entry is $30 before February 23, 2026; $35 on or after February 23 (online) and $35 day of race. A $2 discount is noted for XYZ participants. T-shirts are guaranteed for competitors registered before February 23; shirts for later registrants are first come, first served. Age group awards are offered for male and female divisions in these brackets: 0-11, 12-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70+. Overall male and female winners receive awards; the first three finishers in each age group also receive awards. A Police/Fire/Criminal Justice Challenge combines the top three finishers from each eligible department to compete for a traveling trophy; eligibility is limited to departments related to police, fire, and public service and is subject to final determination by the race director.
