For the Wild 5k/10k

For The Wild 5K/10K+ is a community run/walk/bike fundraiser in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, at the Newbold Recreation Area (6954 Ole Lake Road). Participants choose a 5K or 10K+ course, the latter officially listed as 10.9K (6.8 miles). The route starts at the Newbold Rec Area, travels Ole Lake Road and Lake Mildred Road, then returns along a bike path.

The event is non-timed and open to walkers, runners, and bikers, with strollers welcome and dogs not permitted. Proceeds benefit Wild Instincts, a wildlife rehabilitation center. A virtual option is available.

Fees: $25 (5K), $30 (10K+); T-shirts guaranteed for registrants by Sept. 14; prizes for top finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
