About the race
The Freedom For Fighters 8th Annual Event to End Silent Suffering is a meaningful walk/run held in Mountain Home, Idaho, featuring two distances: a 5K and a 7-mile walk/run. Participants start at designated locations—5K at Mountain Home Walking Path and 7-mile near Bypass Road—and finish at Legacy Park. Unique to this event, runners carry backpacks filled with donated canned goods symbolizing the heavy burdens of PTSD and depression, unloading weight at checkpoints to represent relief before finishing.
The event honors those struggling with hidden wounds, supports veterans and first responders, and raises funds for charitable causes including a future healing ranch. A virtual option is also available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
