The Friends of Cunningham Falls and Gambrill State Parks 10K-5K and Fun Run/Walk takes place on Sunday, November 1, 2026, in Thurmont, Maryland. Entry fee is $32.80 (includes a $2.80 fee). Registration closes October 31, 2026, and there is no race day registration. Proceeds benefit the Friends of Cunningham Falls and Gambrill State Parks, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports programs and recreation in Cunningham Falls and Gambrill State Parks.
Course and logistics
Place: 14274 William Houck Drive, Thurmont, MD 21788 (William Houck lake area). Lat/Long: 39.6265, -77.4632. The event uses paved park roads and includes parking at the South Beach Circle parking area near the entrance station. Directions from US 15 in Thurmont: take MD 77 west about 3 miles, turn left on Catoctin Hollow Road for about 1.3 miles, then turn right on William Houck Drive and enter the large parking area.
Distances:
- 5K: paved, rolling course through Cunningham Falls State Park, includes a hill.
- 10K: double-loop of the paved 5K course.
- Fun Run / Walk: 1.4-mile untimed stroll on pavement beside Big Hunting Creek Lake.
