Frozen Gnome

The Frozen Gnome is a challenging winter trail running event held in Crystal Lake, Illinois, at Veteran Acres park. Featuring a "Triple Black Diamond" rated course, the race offers a 50K ultra run and a 10K race, both run on a scenic 10K single-track loop through Veteran Acres and Sterne’s Woods. The 50K consists of five laps of this loop.

Runners experience a frosty, fun atmosphere with unique features like a "butt slide hill" and a well-supported aid station offering hot food, coffee, and warmth. Relay options include 2-person and 5-person teams. Participants receive custom tech shirts and finisher medals, with awards for top finishers.
