Frozen Trash Panda takes place on January 3, 2026 at Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, AL (5105 Nolen Ave SE). It is the second race in the Winter Wild Thangs Trail Series. Distances offered:
- 10K
- 1/2 Marathon
The race field is capped at 400 runners. Registration for the event closes on December 31, 2025. All entrants in the Frozen Trash Panda 10K and 1/2 Marathon receive a t-shirt and finisher award; the race shirt is the same design used for the entire series.
Logistics and course
The course includes bluff views, mountain scenery, creek crossings and waterfalls. Several aid stations are planned and will offer items such as water, Gatorade, coke, GU, pretzels, M&M's and granola bars. The event operates as a cupless race; runners must carry a handheld bottle, pack or reusable cup. A reusable cup is available for purchase at checkout for $5.
Packet pickup is at the RunningLane store (2407 Memorial Parkway SW Suite 1, Huntsville, AL) on Friday, January 2, and there is also morning pickup the day of the race. The shirt is a short sleeve tri-blend. Age groups run 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+. There are very loose cutoffs; a 17 minute per mile cutoff applies for Long Series participants. There are no refunds, deferrals, credits or transfers. Sponsors include Marco's Pizza, which will provide pizza at the finish. Volunteers who work designated shifts receive entry credits toward future events.
