Frozen Yeti takes place on December 20, 2025 at Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, AL (5105 Nolen Ave SE). Distances offered:
- 5 Mile
- 10 Mile
The course includes bluff views, creek crossings and waterfalls. Several aid stations will be on course offering water, Gatorade, coke, GU, pretzels, M&M's and granola bars. This is a cupless race: participants must carry a hand bottle, pack or reusable cup. A reusable cup is available for purchase for $5 at checkout. All Frozen Yeti participants receive a short sleeve tri-blend t-shirt and a finisher award. Age groups are 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
Logistics and series information
Frozen Yeti is Race 1 of the Winter Wild Thangs Trail Series, which includes three events from late December to January: Frozen Yeti (Dec 20, 2025), Frozen Trash Panda (Jan 3, 2026) and Frozen Goat (Jan 17, 2026). The race field is capped at 400 runners. Registration closes on December 17, 2025. Packet pickup is available Friday, December 19, 2025 at the RunningLane store (2407 Memorial Parkway SW Suite 1, Huntsville, AL) from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Organizers state very loose cutoffs, with a 17 minute per mile cutoff for Long Series participants and a note about 15 minute mile pacing when choosing series distance. There are no refunds, deferrals, credits or entry transfers. Average winter temperatures in Huntsville are listed as lows 25F-35F and highs 45F-55F.
