Furbutt's Backyard Ultra

Website Registration

Furbutt’s 24-hour Backyard Ultra is a unique endurance running event held in Lorton, Virginia. Based on Lazarus Lake’s backyard format, runners must complete a 4.167-mile loop every hour, starting each new loop on the hour. Participants continue this cycle for up to 24 hours, with the challenge being to remain in the corral ready to start the next loop; failure to do so results in elimination.

This format encourages strategic rest and pacing, making it an excellent opportunity for runners aiming to complete their first marathon, 50K, or 50-mile distance. The event offers a supportive atmosphere for both new and experienced ultrarunners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

Always double-check with the organizer's website – things can change, and we might have sprinted past a few details!
