Galena Sky Trail Races

Galena Sky Trail Race is held at Chestnut Mountain Resort in Galena, Illinois. It features two timed loop formats: an 8-hour loop and a 4-hour loop on the resort’s trails that climb the same hills skied in winter, offering views of the Mississippi River and the Iowa–Wisconsin shores. The long loop is about 2.9 miles, with a 0.6-mile short loop available.

Runners enjoy a Nordic Viking Warrior-themed atmosphere, a DJ and after-party. Finisher medals are 3-D heavy-metal Warrior designs, and there are overall and age-group awards, plus a best-warrior costume prize. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
