The Gem of the Highlands 5K takes place on Saturday, November 1, 2025, in Norwood, Ohio. The event program includes a 5K (entry fee $35) and a Kids Fun Run (free; T-shirt option $10). A family discount applies: families of four or more receive $6 off per person. Registration closes on November 1, 2025. The race is a member event of the Ohio Challenge Series.
Location and community purpose
The race is based at 4400 Floral Ave., Norwood, OH 45212. Packet pick-up is offered on October 29 at Norwood Cappy’s (1919 Cleneay Ave), October 30 at Norwood Cappy’s, and October 31 at The Ventura (4557 Montgomery Rd). The event is volunteer led and directs proceeds to Norwood park improvements. Since its start eight years ago, the race has donated more than $90,000; major projects funded include new basketball courts at Waterworks Park and a dog park at Upper Millcrest Park, with additional funding for mulch, grass seed and other needs at five Norwood parks.
