Gene Montague Memorial 5K
The Gene Montague Memorial 5K is a trail and pavement running event held at Locust Shade Park in Triangle, Virginia. The 5K course consists of two loops featuring about 40% pavement and some trail sections with roots and hills, offering a moderately challenging terrain. The race supports local scholarships and health initiatives, with proceeds benefiting the Pi Lambda Lambda Chapter's scholarship fund and diabetes awareness events.
Participants receive a finisher’s medal, an event shirt (if registered early), and chip timing.
