Geode Challenge Races

Geode Challenge Races are annual trail races at Geode State Park in Danville, Iowa, offering 5K, 12K, and 25K. The 12K runs the beach-perimeter loop in the opposite direction, while the 25K doubles the loop for a longer challenge. Terrain includes dirt trails, rocks, sand, and hills, with about 800 feet of elevation on the perimeter loop.

Dogs are welcome on leashes. Finishers receive a geode; top male and female in each distance earn handmade plaques, and the Top Dog plaque goes to the first overall winner running with a dog. Proceeds benefit Friends of Geode.
