Event overview
Sky To Summit is a trail race held October 25-26, 2025 in Sky Valley, Georgia. The event offers two distances and each race starts and finishes at Sky Valley. The 50K takes place on Saturday and the 25K on Sunday.
- 50K - 7,500 ft gain, 11 hour cutoff
- 25K - 3,500 ft gain, 5.5 hour cutoff
Course and support
The course runs on mountain trails around Sky Valley and passes waterfalls, overlooks, and Rabun Bald. The route includes long trail sections with fall foliage and wide views into three states. The 25K is described as not hiker friendly and requires running downhill at minimum. Maps, aid station breakdowns, and cutoff times are provided, and a runner handbook covers rules, crew and pacer information. All finishers receive a medal, pint glass, hat, free photos, and a post-race meal; certain items are guaranteed for registrations completed by September 1.
Entry, fees and policies
Early pricing applies through July 1: 50K $135, 25K $105. Prices increase after July 1 to 50K $145 and 25K $115. Registration closes the day before the event on October 24.
Cancellation policy: no refunds, transfers, or deferments within 90 days of the event. Between 6 months and 90 days before the event, runners may receive half credit toward another Run Bum Race of equal or lesser value. Outside of 6 months before the event, full credit toward another Run Bum Race of equal or lesser value is available. Full credit is offered for pregnancy and military order deferrals and is valid for two years. The event organizer also offers volunteer opportunities and reports over 3,500 man hours of trail work and donations to the Blue Ridge Bartram Trail Conservancy.
