About the race
The Giving Thanks for a Cure 5k is a family-friendly running event held in Rincon, Georgia, starting at the Effingham YMCA located at 1224 Patriot Drive. The course begins by the YMCA pool, runs past Wiley's Furniture, crosses railroad tracks, and winds through a neighborhood on an out-and-back route. Open to all ability levels, from walkers to competitive runners, the event supports the Cure for Childhood Cancer foundation, with all registration proceeds donated to the cause.
Participants receive a finisher medal and race shirt (if registered by November 1). The race is hosted by Effingham County Middle School and managed with support from ERS Savannah. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
