Event overview
The Glacier Half Marathon is a point-to-point half marathon (13.1 miles) held on June 27, 2026 near Browning and East Glacier Village, Montana. The course runs along the eastern border of Glacier National Park but does not take place inside the park. The organizer lists the course as high-elevation and rates it 4/5 for difficulty. Runners should note a steady, roughly 5-mile climb that begins above 5,000 ft and a total time limit of 4 hours (about 18.5 minutes per mile). A portion of registration fees supports the Blackfeet Tribe.
Course and logistics
The race starts about 1.3 miles east of Kiowa on Highway 89 and finishes on the front lawn of Glacier Park Lodge. The route is paved except for a couple of short grass sections. From mile 5 to mile 10 the course trends downhill with views of Lower Two Medicine Lake; the final section includes a series of hill climbs and drops. There are five aid stations, with medical support at mile 9, and amenities such as water, electrolyte drink, gels, toilets, and fruit. The event is cup-free on course and at the finish, so runners are asked to use a reusable bottle, cup, or hydration pack.
Expo and bib pickup are at Red Eagle Campground the day before the race. Race-day parking and shuttle service operate from Charging Home Stampede Park in Browning to the start line; there is no parking at the start or finish. Primitive camping is available at Red Eagle Campground. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
