Goodnight-Loving Run Half-Marathon

Event
The Goodnight-Loving Run is scheduled for April 11, 2026, at Historic Fort Belknap in Newcastle, Texas. This is the 5th annual running of the event. The races use an out-and-back course on FM 61 that includes a few mild incline hills. Distances offered:
- 5K - out-and-back from Fort Belknap
- 10K - out-and-back from Fort Belknap
- Half Marathon - out-and-back from Fort Belknap
The stated entry prices are $35 for the 5K, $50 for the 10K, and $80 for the Half Marathon, with prices increasing after January 3, 2026.
Logistics
Aid stations are located at approximately every mile and will provide water, sports beverages, protein snacks, and port-a-johns. A timing chip will be attached to the back of the race bib; timing services are provided by AllSports Timing and results are posted after the race. Bicycles, roller skates, in-line skates, baby carriers, and dogs are prohibited on the course; jogging strollers are permitted but must start in the back.
All finishers receive a medal. Runners registered before March 14 receive a T-shirt and a choice of a crawfish plate or a top-shelf bloody Mary; 10K and Half-Marathon participants also receive a coffee mug. Awards are given to 1st through 3rd place male and female finishers in each race and to top finishers by age group in the Half Marathon.
