Event overview
The Gorges Ithaca half marathon is a point-to-point road and trail race held Sunday, June 7, 2026. The event is presented by Cayuga Health with support from Island Health & Fitness. The course starts in Trumansburg and finishes in Cass Park at the base of Cayuga Lake in Ithaca. The route features a net descent and uses the Black Diamond Rail Trail for a portion of the course.
Entrants receive an event tech tee (guaranteed for those who register before May 1), a finisher’s medal, a Specialized Purist sport bottle, and post-race to-go food from Fittnell Farms. Gear-check, packet pickup, and check-in are available at local locations: Finger Lakes Running Company (Thursday/Friday), Garrett’s Brewing (Saturday), and race-day check-in at Trumansburg Central School.
Course and logistics
The course passes near the upper tip of Taughannock Falls State Park, descends on a hard-packed gravel rail trail, then follows the Cayuga Lake inlet into Cass Park for the finish. Charles O. Dickerson High School in Trumansburg is used for staging, parking, and start-area facilities; finish-area parking is arranged in lots around Cass Park and Alan Treman Park. Shuttle buses run between the finish and the start for participants.
Aid stations are located at approximate mileages of 2.3, 4, 6.1, 8.7, 10.7 and 12.4 and will provide water and a sport drink; later stations may offer fruit. Portajohns are placed at the start, the finish, and alongside select aid stations. Walkers are permitted but the race enforces a 3.5 hour course cutoff. The event has a no-refund policy; entries notified by the stated deadline may be deferred per organizer rules. Live runner tracking and post-race results are provided.
