Event overview
The GOVX San Diego Half Marathon & 5K is the 15th annual running of the event, scheduled for Sunday, March 22, 2026, at 100 North Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA. Virtual options are offered for both the half marathon and the 5K. The half marathon course includes five miles of waterfront, four historic communities, three parks, two miles through downtown San Diego, and a finish in the Gaslamp District. The 5K is a flat loop course in downtown San Diego that starts in front of the San Diego Convention Center and also finishes in the Gaslamp Quarter.
There is a time limit for each distance. The half marathon has a 3.5-hour time limit and requires maintaining a 16:02-minute-per-mile pace or faster. The 5K has a 1-hour time limit and requires maintaining a 19:21-minute-per-mile pace or faster. Team scoring is available for the half marathon only; teams must have at least ten people and at least two members of each gender to qualify. Team scores use the average of each team’s top 10 chip times, including at least two of each gender.
