Grand Canyon Trail Half Marathon
The Grand Canyon Trail Half Marathon and 5k is a scenic trail running event held near the South Rim of the Grand Canyon in Tusayan, Arizona. The half marathon covers approximately 13.1 miles through the rugged terrain of Kaibab National Forest on the Coconino Plateau, featuring challenging hills, rocky and dirt forest roads, and a final paved section along the Arizona Trail. The 5k is an out-and-back course combining paved and dirt roads.
The race start and finish are at the IMAX Visitor Center in Tusayan, with post-race festivities including snacks, a beer garden, and an artisan fair. The event supports local nonprofits and offers participants a commemorative medal and long-sleeve shirt. It is suitable for runners and walkers but not for chair athletes on the half marathon course.
