About the race
Grandmaster Ultras is an ultrarunning event held in the warm, scenic Arizona Strip near Mesquite, Nevada, designed exclusively for runners aged 50 and above. The race features multiple distances: 50K, 50 miles, 100K, and 100 miles, with cutoffs of 24 hours for shorter distances and 48 hours for longer ones. The course primarily follows ATV trails through desert terrain, including the notable clockwise Thelma Louise loop with elevation gains up to 2,605 feet.
Aid stations are spaced every 4 to 7 miles, supporting runners along the challenging out-and-back and looped routes. Pacers are allowed under specific conditions, enhancing the supportive atmosphere of this unique event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
