Course and logistics
All courses start with a 3/4-mile loop along the lake. Runners then follow Green Valley Lake Road and Forest Service Road 2N13. The route includes a gradual climb with approximately 400 feet of elevation gain to a viewpoint, and the surface is partly paved (about 1.5 miles) before transitioning to dirt roads and trail. The half marathon is an out-and-back course that repeats the lakeside loop near the finish; it includes a short 150-foot scramble trail to a viewpoint. The 5K turns around at a helicopter dirt pad and returns to the finish; the 10K extends another 1.55 miles past the viewpoint before returning. Aid stations and water are provided roughly every 1.5 miles; the half marathon has five aid stations along the route. Packet pickup is scheduled at Black Dog Social Club on the Friday before the race and at the race site on race morning. Post-race activities and awards take place at the Downtown Community Garden.
