Hahns Peak Vertical Trail Race
The Hahns Peak Vertical Trail Race is an 8-mile out-and-back trail run held annually at the Quarry Lot near Hahns Peak Village in Clark, Colorado. Established in 2017, the challenging course ascends 2,200 feet over 4 miles to the summit of Hahns Peak, an extinct volcano standing at 10,839 feet, featuring a historic 1912 fire lookout tower and panoramic 360-degree views. The trail is mostly single track with a mix of jeep road and a steep talus slope near the summit, requiring caution.
The race supports Steamboat Springs High School Track & Field and Cross Country programs and includes awards for top finishers and a post-race raffle. Participants are encouraged to bring their own hydration due to limited water stations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
