Hair of the Bear 15K & 5K : March 29, 2026
The event is presented by ShawneeCraft Brewing Co. and is the 7th annual Good Day for a Run race. It takes place in Shawnee On Delaware, PA at the Shawnee Inn property in the Pocono Mountains. Two official race events are offered.
Courses, amenities and race details
- 15K: starts and finishes at ShawneeCraft Brewery; includes about 5 miles on the McDade Trail along the Delaware River; includes approximately 4 miles of paved roads.
- 5K: course on Shawnee Inn property and neighboring roads; finishes at ShawneeCraft Brewery; about 90% paved.
Races are professionally chip timed. Water stations and course marshals are placed at important course locations. Packet pick-up is held on race day at ShawneeCraft Brewery; a second packet pick-up date is to be determined. Finishers receive a brunch buffet and a complimentary ShawneeCraft beer for participants over 21 (soda provided for younger finishers). Live music takes place in the brewery after the race. Awards include medals for top three overall and age group male and female winners (age groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, then every 10 years). Event swag includes custom shirts (adult, women's and youth options), custom finisher medals, a custom beer glass, and free downloadable race and after-party photos. Spectators are welcome; food and beer are available for purchase. The race is rain or shine; there are no refunds or deferrals. Volunteers are invited.
