Hardrock 100
The Hardrock 100 is a challenging 100-mile ultramarathon held annually in the San Juan Mountain Range of southwestern Colorado. The race features a counter-clockwise loop course that traverses rugged backcountry terrain, including 4WD roads, dirt trails, and cross-country sections. Runners experience a total elevation change of about 66,000 feet, with climbs and descents each around 33,000 feet, averaging an elevation of over 11,000 feet.
The course passes near historic mining towns such as Silverton, Lake City, Ouray, Telluride, and Ophir, reaching a high point of 14,048 feet at Handies Peak.
