The Hare Mountain 100 is a point-to-point trail event near Hagarville, Arkansas, on the Ozark Highlands Trail. The event offers multiple race distances and finishes at Shores Lake Recreation Area. Registration closes October 10, 2025. Part of the race proceeds support local animal shelters and the Ozark Highlands Trail Association.
- 100 Miler - point-to-point on the OHT, 38-hour cutoff, 20,000–24,400 ft elevation gain
- 50 Miler - second half of the 100 course, 14-hour cutoff, 10,000–12,000 ft elevation gain
- 60K - point-to-point to Shores Lake, 12-hour cutoff, 9,000–10,000 ft elevation gain
Course, logistics and entries
The course runs across steep, rocky, and remote sections of the Ozark Highlands Trail and includes spur loops, creek crossings, bluffs, waterfalls, and forested terrain. There are 13 major aid stations, with distances of about 4–12 miles between some stations. A GPS tracking device with the course GPX downloaded is required for the 100; phone GPX apps are acceptable for the 60K, and satellite communicators are encouraged. Live GPS tracking and aid station timing will be provided via MAProgress and OpenSplitTime with Starlink support at aid stations.
The race offers shuttle service options, limited equipment rental for tracking devices, event shirts and finisher awards, and a small number of discounted entry slots for low-income runners.
