The Haunted Wine Run 5k at Busse Woods is scheduled for Saturday, October 4, 2025 in Elk Grove Village, Illinois at Busse Forest South Picnic Grove #5. Course, registration and awards
The course is an out-and-back route through Busse Woods Forest Preserve, starting and finishing at Grove 5, described as fast and flat and suitable for runners and walkers. Registration includes a T-shirt, a shatterproof collapsible wine glass, a finisher medal that doubles as a wine coaster, a chip-timed race bib, online results, and a pour of wine for eligible participants. Minors receive a discounted registration that includes shirt, medal and bib but not a wine glass or wine pour. Strollers are allowed but not recommended due to uneven ground; children in strollers can participate free and do not need to register. Friendly dogs on leashes are permitted and owners must clean up after them. Packet pickup is held on race day only. A virtual participation option is available; shipped packets carry a $10 shipping and handling charge. Age-group awards are offered in 10-year categories up to 80 and over; top finishers must follow event start-group rules to be eligible and awards are available for pickup on race day only.
