Hemingway Sunset Run 5K

Event overview

The Hemingway 5K Sunset Run is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, July 25-26, 2026. It marks the event's 37th anniversary and takes place in Key West, Florida, as part of Hemingway Days, a six-day commemoration of Ernest Hemingway. The event is based at the Southernmost Point buoy at United and Duval Street. Race registration and post-race activities are held near the Southernmost Beach Cafe, 1405 Duval Street. Results will be posted the race evening and on the event Facebook page.

• The Beach N’ Beer Mile is not timed, consists of four loops with four beer tickets from Islamorada Beer Co., and includes a custom shirt. Entry price listed at $55. Prizes are awarded for Best Team Spirit, Best Dressed, and Least Dressed.
• There is a registration booth outside Southernmost Beach Cafe and an awards/beach party with tastings of Papa’s Pilar Rum and Islamorada Beer, snacks, raffles, and live entertainment.
• Paddleboard rentals are available from local outfitters. A personal flotation device is required for the paddleboard race.
